Cosmetology
Cosmetology is the study and application of beauty treatment. Cosmetic treatments may involve a wide range of disciplines including skin and nail care, epilation, manicure and pedicure. In their work, cosmetologists need first-class lighting conditions and the aid of powerful and flexible magnifiers.
Foot therapists, too, require excellent lighting. Foot therapy is a form of treatment to remove or reduce hard skin, corns and calluses, and to treat cracks and sores. Proper magnification is essential for the diagnosis and treatment of feet.
Luxo magnifiers are ideally designed to withstand the rigors of everyday use in any health spa, beauty salon or cosmetology application.

Low Vision
“Low vision” is a medical term that is defined as chronic disabling visual impairments that cannot be corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or medical or surgical treatment. Eighty percent of people with low vision are over age sixty-five, and most of these developed low vision late in life.
Children have the ability to get extremely close to an object and still keep it in focus (their eyes can change focus over a large range). However, adults generally lose that ability due to hardening of the eye’s lens with age. Consequently, many adults require strong glasses or magnifiers to focus on closely viewed objects.
Luxo lighted magnifiers provide illumination and magnification to alleviate many of the issues associated with “older eyes,” and are designed and built to withstand the rigors of everyday use.
